This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the 'BNSS') seeking, inter alia, the following prayers:

"a) Issue an appropriate writ/ directions in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents no.1,2 and 3 to save the life and liberty of the petitioners from respondent no.4 and 5 their families, friends, servants and aides.

b) Issue an appropriate writ/ directions in the nature of Mandamus to the respondents No.4 and 5 not to interfere in the married life of the petitioners as husband and wife;

and 5 not to harass the petitioners without any rhyme and reason;"

Learned counsel for the Petitioners submits that the Petitioners have solemnized an interfaith marriage in accordance with law and apprehend danger to their life and liberty at the hands of their respective family members. It is submitted that they are, therefore, seeking police protection. 4.

Issue notice.

Learned APP for the State accepts notice and submits that the contact details of the Beat Officer and the concerned SHO shall be provided to the Petitioners. The Petitioners shall be at liberty to contact them on the given mobile numbers as and when they require any assistance or are in distress. 6.

It is further directed that the SHO, Police Station Neb Sarai, shall depute a police official to visit the residence where the Petitioners are presently residing once every day to ascertain their well-being and to ensure that there is no threat to their life and liberty. 7.

With the aforesaid directions, the present petition stands disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, stands disposed of. 8.
