ORAL ORDER:

As a consequence to the decision taken by the Government to widen and strengthen the road from KM 19/02 to 28/250 of Nagalapuram Chinnapanduru road in Chittoor district, the road was widened and strengthened. At the time of widening and strengthening of the road culvert existing in Survey Nos. 197 and 135 of Rajagopalapuram village was closed. Grievance of the petitioner is that on account of closure of the said culvert water is flowing and inundating houses and properties of the villagers, causing lot of hardship to them. Petitioner submitted representation to the authorities to construct the culvert, but so far, no steps are taken. Representation dated 9.5.2016 addressed to Executive Engineer,R & B Department /third respondent marking copies to the District Collector, Chief Engineer, R & B Department and other authorities is enclosed as Ex.P.-2. Learned counsel for petitioner submitted that so far there is no response to the said representation.

Having regard to the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, writ petition is disposed of directing the Executive Engineer/third respondent to consider the representation dated 9.5.2016 and take appropriate decision as warranted by law, if necessary to construct culvert as requested and communicate the decision to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
