The Applicant is seeking anticipatory bail in connection with C.R.No. 180 of 2020 registered at M.R.A. Marg Police Station, Mumbai on 24/07/2020, under section 381 of the Indian Penal Code (for short 'IPC'

).

The gist of the First Information Report (for short 'F.I.R.') is that, the applicant was working in Government Mint. Two coins of denomination of Rs.20/- were found in his locker unauthorisedly, therefore, this F.I.R. was lodged. The contention of the applicant is that, he was due for promotion and his rivals have planted those coins in his locker which was easily accessible. Digitally signed by Pradeepkumar P. The learned APP, on instructions, makes a statement that, if the applicant remains present in the police station and cooperates with the investigation, his custodial interrogation may not be necessary. The statement is accepted.

In view of this statement, following order is passed.

ORDER

(i) In the event of his arrest in connection with C.R.No. 180 of 2020 registered at M.R.A. Marg Police Station, Mumbai, the applicant is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing PR bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) with one or two sureties in the like amount.

(ii) The applicant shall attend the concerned police station on 28/12/2020, 29/12/2020 and 30/12/2020 between 1.00p.m. to 05.00p.m. and shall co-operate with the investigation.

(iii) If the applicant does not attend and co-operate with the investigation, the State is at liberty to make an application for cancellation of this order.

(iv) Application is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. (SARANG V. KOTWAL, J.)
