No. 36 at Navakkuruchi Village, TalaivasalTaluk, Salem District since declared as public temple which was scheduled between 02.07.2026, 03.07.2026 and 04.07.2026.My representation dated 09.04.2026 made by us to the respondents 1 to 4 herein by speed post to consider and as per the direction given by this Honble Court in W.P. No. 19731 of 2025 dated 29.05.2025 and consequently direct the respondents 3 and 4 herein to conduct the temple festival every year in the interest of devotees and village public.

ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to conduct, administer and oversee the annual temple festival of Sri Vadakaraiyan alias Muthaiyah Temple, situated in Survey No.36, Navakkuruchi Village, Talaivasal Taluk, Salem District.
2. According to the petitioners, the said temple has been declared as a public temple and the temple festival for the current year has been scheduled to be conducted from 02.07.2026 to 04.07.2026. It is the further case of the petitioner that a representation dated 09.04.2026 was submitted to respondents 1 to 4 requesting them to make necessary arrangements for conducting the temple festival in accordance with the earlier directions issued by this Court in W.P. No.19731 of 2025 dated 29.05.2025 and to ensure that the festival is conducted
every year in the interest of the devotees and the villagers. Hence, the petitioners have filed this petition seeking appropriate orders from this Court.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the official respondents submitted that necessary steps have already been initiated by the competent authorities for conducting and supervising the temple festival scheduled to be held from 02.07.2026 to 04.07.2026. It was further submitted that the temple festival has been conducted every year under the supervision of the authorities and appropriate arrangements are being made for the current year.
4. In view of the aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel for the official respondents, no further direction is required to be issued in the present Writ Petition, as the relief sought by the petitioner has substantially been complied with.
5. However, it is made clear that, in the event of any dispute relating to the conduct of the temple festival or if any law and order issue arises during the festival, the respondents 3 and 4 are at liberty to seek adequate police protection from the jurisdictional police authorities. Upon receipt of such request, or even
suo motu, if the jurisdictional police perceive any imminent threat to public peace, tranquillity or safety, they shall take appropriate preventive and protective measures and provide adequate police protection to ensure the peaceful, orderly and uninterrupted conduct of the temple festival. The police authorities shall also take all necessary steps to maintain law and order and safeguard the life and property of the devotees and the general public.
6. The Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the Superintendent of Police, Salem District, for taking appropriate steps.
7. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
