Mr. Vaibhav Mittal, Advocate, for the U.T., Chandigarh. *** VIKRAM AGGARWAL, J (ORAL) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6 and not to interfere and harass the petitioners and to direct the official respondents to ensure the security of life and liberty of the petitioners. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that they being majors have solemnized marriage with their own consent in accordance with law. However, the private respondents are not accepting the marriage of the petitioners and are extending threats to them. The copies of 'Aadhaar' cards (Annexures P-1 and P-2) of petitioners No.1 and 2 have been placed on record.

Mr. Vaibhav Mittal, Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents-U.T., Chandigarh.

Without commenting upon the validity of the marriage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 28.06.2026 (Annexure P-5) and take requisite action, if so warranted, as per the facts and circumstances of the matter in accordance with law.
