1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

2. Learned advocate for the petitioner expresses dissatisfaction with regard to investigation being carried out in Dankuni Police Station Case No.27/2024 dated 2nd February, 2024.

3. Plight of the petitioner being a septuagenarian lady, is narrated before this Court and a direction is sought for upon the concerned investigating agency to expedite the investigation and submit a report before the jurisdictional Magistrate.

4. Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State submits a report being a communication dated 30th June, 2026 of Inspectorin-Charge, Dankuni Police Station, Chandannagar

Police Commissionerate and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 30th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

5. It is disclosed in the communication dated 30th June, 2026 that notices were issued to the petitioner and relevant documents, including deeds were obtained.

6. One of the FIR named persons namely, Kalyan Kumar Ballav was arrested. Subsequently, two other persons were tried to be apprehended but attempts failed instead of certain raids were conducted by the police authorities. There were two pre-arrest bail applications moved by the accused persons, which were rejected but subsequent thereto accused persons till date are yet to be arrested.

7. Concerned investigating agency is directed to expedite the investigation and continue to make endeavour to apprehend accused persons.

8. This Court expects that urgent steps shall be taken for concluding the investigation and filing report before the jurisdictional court.

9. With the aforesaid observations, writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
