... for the State Considering the nature of allegations, seriousness of the offence and the case records, this Court is of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to bail at this stage, as one of the allegations is defalcation of huge amount of government funds/public money.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

It is submitted by the learned Counsel appearing for the State that the trial is yet to begin and charges have not been framed.

The Court expects that the trial be expedited and concluded at the earliest preferably within a period of one year from the date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Bibhas Ranjan De, J.) (Shampa Sarkar, J.)
