Petitioner is in custody for more than 200 days. He submits incident occurred in course of a sudden quarrel. He prays for bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. She submits bail prayer of co-accuseds were rejected in September, 2022.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner and co-accuseds assaulted the victim. Bail prayer of coaccuseds were turned down in September, 2022. Under such circumstances and in view of gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

Trial court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
