As service of copy could not be made upon the learned Public Prosecutor, Mr. Swapan Banerjee, learned PP-in-charge, Mr. Suman De and Mr. Pratick Bose, learned Advocates who are present in Court are requested to appear in this matter on behalf of the State. Their appearances may be regularized by the concerned authority.

The petitioner before this court is the de facto complainant in Sessions Case No. 575 of 2019 pending before the Court of learned First Additional Sessions Judge at Barasat.

As the prayer made by the petitioner is expeditious disposal of the Sessions case, this court is of the view that notice upon the accused persons is not necessary.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner draws attention to the orders passed by the learned Court below and submits that although the case is pending from 07.07.2021 for consideration of

charge but the said consideration is not made and the trial has not yet started.

Considering the nature of the case and the pendency, this court is of the view that there should be a direction for expeditious disposal of the said case. As the learned Court below has already fixed the case on 27.08.2023, the learned Judge is requested to consider and decide with regard to the framing of charge on the said date fixed without granting any further adjournment. In the event charge is framed on the said date, the learned Judge of the Court below is requested to dispose of the Sessions Case no. 575 of 2019 by 31st December, 2023.

This application stands disposed of.
