Petitioner no.1 is the husband of the victim and petitioner no.2 is the married sister-in-law of the victim lady. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show that the husband and other in-laws including the petitioners conjointly tortured the victim. They also had set her on fire and appear to reside in the same locality. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. (Suvra Ghosh, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
